As of noon Wednesday, 49 members of the Guadalupe Valley Electric Cooperative (GVEC) are without power. The remaining outages will be restored once flood waters recede and damage is repaired in the associated areas. Due to the impact of Hurricane Harvey on the Texas grid as a whole, intermittent outages may occur sporadically as damage repair continues by other utilities. GVEC crews, support staff, and the Control Center are on call 24/7, as always, to address any issues.

“The end of this event is in sight,” says GVEC General Manager and CEO Darren Schauer. “We are actively monitoring the remaining outages closely and being creative about the different ways to assess and access, including utilizing specialized equipment like drones. I’m looking forward to having all members back in power very soon and allowing our staff time to unwind after nearly a week of round-the-clock work on the impacts of Harvey.”

Updates are being posted to GVEC’s website, Facebook, and Twitter pages. Members can view current outages 24/7 online at www.gvec.org. To report outages or if you have questions, GVEC can be reached at 800.223.4832.
