Outage Reporting

Guadalupe Valley Electric Cooperative strives to provide you uninterrupted electric power 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Unfortunately, severe weather conditions and an occasional equipment failure make that impossible.

If your power goes out:
Call GVEC at 800-223-GVEC(4832) to report the problem.

Don’t assume that the outage is part of a larger problem and that all your neighbors will be calling to report the outage. It may be that your individual equipment has failed and you are the only one without power. In this case, you could be wasting valuable repair time. If you don’t take the time to call, we may not know about the problem.

Our Automated Outage Reporting System is designed to eliminate wait times in the event of an outage. When you call to report an outage, the automated system recognizes your phone number and through the computerized mapping network, pinpoints your location and backtracks to find the source of the problem. The system can tell rapidly if the problem originates at the substation, a device on the circuit, or even if the problem is isolated to your transformer or meter. The information is received quickly and a repair crew is dispatched quickly. It’s outage reporting made easy – no waiting for someone to process your call and, better yet, less busy signals to drive you crazy.

In order for this system to work effectively, we need accurate account information for each member. Please click here to update your account information.
