Final 2018 Cycle
Since 2012, GVEC has awarded over $1.9 million in grants to assist local nonprofit organizations within our service area. We hold two grant cycles each year, one ending in April, the other in August.
If your nonprofit or community organization has an improvement or development project needing funding, there’s still time to apply for 2018’s final round! Will your project benefit GVEC members? Is it a new project and/or capital in nature? Have we awarded your organization a Power Up grant in the last three years? If not and if your project meets these other criteria, but doesn’t involve day-to-day business or ongoing activities, we encourage you to apply! The deadline is August 15.
Power Up Process
We award Power Up grants using the following project categories:
- Civic/Community Outreach
- Community Development
- Youth Programs
- Public/Safety Organizations
A seven-member committee scores all applications. This committee, which is comprised of community representatives from GVEC’s service area, considers the project’s community impact level; the application’s comprehensiveness; the degree of local support for the project; and other criteria in evaluating each submission.
Ready for Your Application
To learn more or to fill out an application, visit our Power Up page or call 800.223.4832. You can complete and submit your application online or print it out and submit it in person at your local GVEC office or through mail. You can also pick up an application at any GVEC office.
Remember, the submission deadline is 5 p.m., Wednesday, August 15, to any GVEC office; postmarking isn’t considered. We can’t wait to help Power Up your organization’s community project!
