It’s District Meeting Time!

Hello GVEC blog readers! It’s that time of year again when District Meetings commence. This year Districts 1, 10, 4 and 7 will meet. See dates, times and locations for your District Meeting above.

What Are District Meetings For?

District meetings are very important, and we highly recommend you attend. The purpose is to elect a nominee for Director-Candidate for your district, who is then officially elected by members at the GVEC Annual Meeting held the fourth Friday in June. Once elected, they will then serve on the GVEC board, which is made up of 11 directors who each play an important role in assuring the overall health and vitality of our cooperative. Each board member lives and works in GVEC’s service area and all are committed to investing considerable time in representing GVEC membership and working to continually educate themselves to capably serve.

Along with District Meetings being your opportunity to exercise your vote, we also discuss relevant business at these meetings—plus, they are an opportunity to meet GVEC staff and share information about cooperative matters.

How Often Do District Meetings Occur?

District meetings are held on a rotating basis, allowing each district to meet every 3 years to elect their director for the next term. If your district meeting is being held this year, look for a postcard notice in the mail, your local newspaper or visit our Facebook page.

We Look Forward to Seeing You at Your District Meeting!
