GVEC was pleased to present the SCUC Education Foundation with the 2025 Organization Public Service Award. The SCUC Education Foundation was established in 2008 to support the teachers, staff and students of the Schertz-Cibolo-Universal City Independent School District. Through innovative teaching grants, student scholarships, and staff recognition programs, the Foundation works to spark creativity in the classroom, remove barriers to student success, and strengthen community connections across the district.

Since 2010, the Foundation has distributed more than $500,000 in teaching grants, directly benefiting classrooms across the district. In 2022, after a six-month pause to reorganize and revitalize the organization, the Foundation returned with fresh energy, a renewed focus and a clear commitment to elevating its impact.

One of the Foundation’s proudest accomplishments is the launch of One Community Scholarship Nights in 2023. This special event allows the Foundation to award $2,000 scholarships directly to graduating seniors pursuing college, trade school or career training. In just two years, more than $20,000 in scholarships have been awarded—thanks to generous donor support and a strong network of community partnerships. The SCUC Education Foundation was honored as Non-Profit of the Year by The Chamber (Schertz-Cibolo-Selma) and received recognition from the Texas Education Foundation Network for the scholarship program.

The Foundation extends its gratitude to the volunteer board members and leadership team and looks forward to leading SCUC ISD’s 65th anniversary celebration in the 2026–2027 school year.
