GVEC is 85 and Energized!

From our humble beginnings on December 2, 1938, with a mission to deliver electricity to our rural service areas, to the GVEC you know today – a progressive cooperative, proudly serving over 120,000 consumers – we go beyond the meter to deliver products and services that empower the people and communities we serve in South Central Texas. Thank you for the opportunity to serve you for the past 85 years! We look forward to continuing to do so for many more to come!

ELECTRICITY

GVEC has powered our members’ lives with reliable electricity for more than 84 years. As one of the largest electric cooperatives in Texas, we serve more than 97,000 meters in our service area spanning 3,500 square miles over 13 counties. We also serve one of the largest clusters of commercial and industrial customers in the region.

PAY YOUR BILL

Whether it is face to face, over the phone or electronically, we want to make it easier and more convenient for you to reach us.

REPORT & TRACK OUTAGES

We strive to keep the power on at all times. However, given the volatility of weather and other issues beyond our control, outages may occur. When they do, it is important to know what you should do, and how we respond to restore your power as quickly as possible.

COMMUNITY

Power Up has helped transform small change into big change throughout the GVEC service area. This charitable program is funded through the generosity of participating members who round up their electric bills each month and donate the extra pennies to Power Up. Eighty percent of available Power Up funds are awarded as grants and distributed biannually to nonprofit groups engaged in community improvement projects benefiting GVEC members.

Twenty percent is used for community assistance, distributed monthly through local Council of Government (COG) offices to help low-income and elderly members pay their electric bills through Bill-Pay Assistance. Members may opt-out of the program at any time.

WE’RE MORE THAN ELECTRICITY

GVEC specializes in the delivery of products and services that empower the people and communities we serve. Along with our electricity services, we offer AC/heating sales and service, electrician services, solar and battery storage services and high-speed internet.

CAREERS

In our fast-paced cooperative, GVEC wants team members who can deliver the unexpected through attitude, results, and a willingness to continuously develop themselves, their department, and our organization. Join our team!
