As a cooperative, GVEC is owned by the people we serve, and a big part of what we do is help strengthen this region of Texas. Our cooperative structure is unique because we are locally controlled, community-oriented, and focused on the needs of the communities where we live and work.

Across our large service area, GVEC provides electricity, broadband, and beyond the meter services that help homes and businesses operate, grow, and plan for the future.

HELPING BUSINESSES FROM THE START
Economic development is an important part of that work. GVEC has its own economic development team, along with employees who work directly with commercial accounts ranging from small, locally owned businesses to Fortune 500 companies.

Our first priority is making sure businesses have the power they need, but our involvement often goes much further. We work closely with cities, counties, economic development corporations, and other partners to understand the full needs of a new or expanding business, whether that involves financing, infrastructure, water, gas, broadband, or other resources.

PLANNING EARLY MAKES A DIFFERENCE
If a business is considering locating in GVEC’s service area, the sooner they reach out to us, the better. New electric and infrastructure needs can require equipment, engineering, and lead time. Being involved early helps us better understand project timelines, expectations, and work together to keep plans moving forward.

Once a business becomes a customer, that relationship continues. Our teams can help with energy efficiency, managing power supply costs, broadband, renewable energy, rooftop solar, battery storage, and other value-added services.

That same emphasis on early planning and resourcefulness extends to our work with local communities. GVEC recently hosted a regional roundtable event to reinforce the importance of strategic planning, open  communication, and collaboration in supporting business and community development across the region. Thank you to the local leaders who attended and participated in this mutually valuable exchange of information.

A REGION WITH A LOT TO OFFER
GVEC serves a remarkably diverse group of businesses, including steel manufacturing, automotive operations, feed mills, rail facilities, agriculture, and many others. Our central location also provides convenient access to major metropolitan areas while offering the close-knit, community-focused atmosphere many people value.

For business owners, choosing where to locate is about more than a business decision. It can also be about where to raise a family, build a workforce, and become part of a community.

That combination is one of the Guadalupe Valley region’s greatest strengths, and GVEC is proud to help support it. You can discover more about the communities we call home and how GVEC is equipped to meet the needs of businesses in our area at experienceguadalupevalley.com.
