Due to the rise of COVID-19 cases within our service territory, GVEC has temporarily closed all customer service lobbies, but is accepting in-office visits by appointment. Drive thru lanes will remain open for our customers' convenience at this time. As we work together to positively navigate the unprecedented challenges from COVID-19, GVEC has implemented the following guidelines regarding electric and internet service for the next 30-days. These guidelines will be reassessed as necessary following any new developments:

  • All disconnects and late fees for non-payment of electric and internet accounts are suspended until April 30. On that date, we will reassess this policy and decide on possible next steps.Based on the current situation, we are willing to work with our customers on flexible payment arrangements based on their specific needs on a case by case basis. Customers can call 800.223.4832 M-F, 7:30-6pm for assistance.
  • For residents with students in the home who do not have internet service, we are waiving the activation fees for both wireless and fiber where available. Check for service availability and call 800.699.4832 to sign up.

GVEC will continue to closely monitor the COVID-19 daily updates from credible resources such as the Texas Department of State Health Services among other official contacts, and make on-going decisions to help ease concerns for our members and employees. We appreciate your cooperation and patience throughout each step.
