For many, the arrival of spring brings fresh momentum, renewed alignment, and a clearer focus on what lies ahead. At GVEC, that alignment shows up across every department and service line, with team members who know their roles and carry them out with care, professionalism, and pride. Whether they’re working in the field, behind the scenes, or face-to-face with members, each person plays an important part in keeping our Cooperative strong. As the Cooperative continues to grow and serve our members in more ways than ever, our purpose remains the same: to make life easier and more reliable for the people and communities we serve. Each service has its own dedicated experts, but everything works together so you get simple, seamless support for your home, business, and community.
On a national scale, GVEC continues to stand out among electric cooperatives, with industry benchmarking placing us among the top cooperatives in the country. Out of 815 cooperatives, GVEC is the 38th-largest by customers served, the 24th-largest by total energy sold, and the 15th-largest by overall utility plant and infrastructure. We’re also part of a very small group of large cooperatives that voluntarily undergo the scrutiny of rating agencies, fully manage their own power supply, and offer more than just electricity. In fact, among the largest cooperatives in the country, GVEC is one of only a handful providing a full suite of services—electricity, broadband, and beyond the meter services.
I share these rankings not to focus solely on size, but to give context for what’s possible because of our member-owners—and what we can do for you. If we’ve learned anything in recent years, it’s that change can happen fast. With that growth comes a responsibility to be ready for what happens next, to keep doing things that may seem uncommon today, and to lead with care.
